Like his fellow Puritans John Bunyan was a firm believer in the truth of Paul’s words to Titus: “The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world” (Titus 2:11-12). God’s people are saved by faith in Christ, in order that they may live a life that pleases God. Faith in God’s grace leads to living a transformed life by God’s grace.
